I didn't get too much of a sleep in this morning as my little devil decided he wanted booby juice at 5am!!! Yawn! So he has fed, played and now is asleep again. I wish I could join him but I feel like I have so much to do! Less than 5 months to the wedding and I still have not finalised a colour theme. Because it is set right on the beach I wanted something "beachy" or "coastal". I am also starting with a complete blank canvas so I can pretty much choose anything I like. Well it is Friday again and where did the week go? Tomorrow in Melbourne town it is Cox Plate Day. It is the day for serious punters and probably the only day where the horses can overshadow the fashion of the fillies off the track. I will be skipping the whole Spring Racing Carnival this year due to my new "mum" status. Oh ok...I know plenty of new mums will still manage to get a day off to hit the track with the girls. So my real excuse? Well imagine strapping two pieces of cauliflower to each thigh and some rather squishy looking sausage meet to your stomach and you will have some idea of how I feel right now. Good thing is I have discovered the magic "suck me in scotty" underwear. Bad thing is I can't breathe or eat in them. And eating is something I am particularly fond of lately. Did you know that I have to eat an extra 1000 calories per day because I am breastfeeding. Yep that's right...I have to eat all that extra food.
BBQ season is upon us and I have been looking at some salad recipes that will stand out from the crowd. We seem to have BBQ's on for the next 3 weekends and the consistent theme seems to be "could you bring a salad?" Potato salad seems to be the overwhelming favourite but I secretly gag at the thought of peeling all of those damn spuds! No...this season I think this will be my signature dish:
Well little man is awake and will no doubt want thee booby juice which is OK because it means I have an excuse to plonk my behind down for half an hour and watch re-runs of Grey's Anatomy. At the moment Meredith and Izzy are knitting. It made me think about some of those beautiful old-fashioned crafts that people hardly ever spend their time doing anymore. If anyone has friends who knit I think these would be the perfect gift. Made from sustainably-harvested Tasmanian Oak, lightly finished with natural, organic oils, they are just too cute. Granny eat your heart out!

The dust has hardly settled on another weekend and already I am dreaming of the next one. I have just realised why I love weekends so much; because it means 4 hands instead of two! Looking after a 12 week old is hard-core and the weekend brings some much needed relief. Lucky for me my hubby to be (HTB) is very hands on and lets me sleep in and relax whenever he can. Unfortunately I am still the maker of thee booby juice so to avoid exploding bosoms I cannot venture too far from my bub or an electric pump! Good thing I miss my little man if I am away for more than an hour. But it is oh so nice to have a sleep in.
This weekend's round up consisted of sleep ins, coffee, weekend papers, more coffee, brunch out with my doula who helped deliver our gorgeous baby boy 11.5 weeks ago, delicious home cooked dinners (thanks to hubby to be) and some wedding planning.
The wedding is looming and I still have so much to do. I planned as much as I could before Archie arrived and now I am sooo glad I did. Where does the time go? Our wedding is in Byron Bay (my fave place to holiday and where my fiance proposed) in March 2010. I want it to be a celebration of our new family (myself, fiance, step-daughter and Archie) and a gathering of everyone who is important in our life. You just don't know how many times you get to have everyone together...you know? We are going for a casual beach party feel with lots of personal touches. There is no bridal party (just my step daughter as flower girl) and no hoopla! Just good old fashioned loved up fun overlooking one of the most beautiful beaches in the world! Much of my wedding planning has been booked sight unseen so fingers crossed it all comes together! Here is a pic of what I want for my wedding car:

I just love finding unique handmade designs for my little man on Etsy. I do sometimes get sidetracked with all things pink and my mind quickly scurries for a friend or relative who has a baby girl just so I can share the yummy things I find. These are some of my faves I found today.
